Colombia – La Quinua Alto
This Colombian coffee comes from a farm known as La Quinua Alto. It’s packed with rich, fruity flavours, like peach and passionfruit, and boasts a subtly creamy mouthfeel.
This coffee comes from la Quinua Alto, a Colombian farm that sits at between 1,700 and 1,800 metres above sea level. It’s run by Juan Carlos Solarte and Sonia Bastidas, who were both born and raised near to the Ecuadorian border. Both belong to a family which has been growing and selling coffee for two generations. But it wasn’t until three years ago that the pair decided to concentrate their efforts on growing and selling high-quality premium coffees. The results have proven more than worth the effort.
In June, the farm harvested two of its varietals: the Caturra and Castillo. The cherries were pulped and fermented for fourteen to sixteen hours before drying on parchment on the patio over the course more than a week. The results of the process were then sorted by hand before being delivered to the nearest purchasing point, set up by the co-operative Café Occidente.
This example of the farm’s work is fruity and sweet, boasting notes of passion fruit and peaches. The mouthfeel is creamy and fulfilling, and so you’re sure to find yourself returning to this lot again and again!
Orders without Coffee
All orders for coffee accessories (anything other than coffee) will be dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm. Most orders will be delivered within 2-3 working days from when the order was placed.
Orders with Coffee
To make sure your coffee is fresh and packed full of flavour we order the coffee from our roasters as and when the orders are placed; you won't find any stock of coffee in our warehouse! Because your artisan coffee is freshly roasted this means it may take a little longer for your orders to arrive at your door. We allocate 5 working days for all orders containing coffee. It will be worth the wait - trust us.
The process team at Coffee Tasting Club do not work over the weekend (yay!) so any orders placed between Friday after 2pm and Sunday will be processed on the following Monday.
International orders (without coffee) are usually processed and dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm. Anything ordered after 2pm will be processed the next working day. International orders (with coffee) will take a little longer to be dispatched. All coffee is roasted fresh to order so we allocate 7-10 days for deliveries outside of the UK.
We ship all International orders on a first class international service but as we're shipping from the UK please be aware that your order may take up to 7 working days after dispatch before it arrives with you.
