Ethiopia – Sidamo
£6.00 – £20.00
This coffee comes from the Sidamo region of Ethiopia. It brings together unusual flavours like black tea, currants and lychee, and boasts a long, sweet finish.
Ethiopia is a country that’s famous for its coffee. It’s where the famous Arabica plant first came to be cultivated – and then spread to the rest of the world. The home of modern coffee now accounts for just a few percent of the global coffee market, but this output is largely of the premium sort: thanks to a combination of altitude and an equatorial climate, Ethiopian farmers are able to produce coffees of the utmost quality.
98% of Ethiopia’s coffee exports are the work of smallholders, whose estates are often no larger than a hectare. This is in sharp contrast with the much larger operations found in larger coffee-producing nations, like Brazil. The result of this smallness of scale is that no two Ethiopian coffees are quite alike; the country is home to a tremendous variety of flavours.
The coffee you see here comes from the Sidamo province, on the country’s southern edge. Coffees grown here are famed for their depth, with chocolates and floral flavours in strong evidence in the cup. This coffee is bursting with unusual flavours, with black tea, currants and lychee all present. You’ll get a long, sweet finish.
Orders without Coffee
All orders for coffee accessories (anything other than coffee) will be dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm. Most orders will be delivered within 2-3 working days from when the order was placed.
Orders with Coffee
To make sure your coffee is fresh and packed full of flavour we order the coffee from our roasters as and when the orders are placed; you won't find any stock of coffee in our warehouse! Because your artisan coffee is freshly roasted this means it may take a little longer for your orders to arrive at your door. We allocate 5 working days for all orders containing coffee. It will be worth the wait - trust us.
The process team at Coffee Tasting Club do not work over the weekend (yay!) so any orders placed between Friday after 2pm and Sunday will be processed on the following Monday.
International orders (without coffee) are usually processed and dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm. Anything ordered after 2pm will be processed the next working day. International orders (with coffee) will take a little longer to be dispatched. All coffee is roasted fresh to order so we allocate 7-10 days for deliveries outside of the UK.
We ship all International orders on a first class international service but as we're shipping from the UK please be aware that your order may take up to 7 working days after dispatch before it arrives with you.
